EMRAM Stage 7. Key initiatives include launching an updated version of the IJNCare app, which will make it easier for patients to manage their appointments, admissions, and medication refills, and integrating wearable devices for home monitoring, allowing patients to track their health and connect virtually with their care providers.
These initiatives, once executed, will align with Dr Ezani’ s master plan to revamp IJN, referred to as IJN 2.0.
IJN’ s Expansion 2.0 Phase 1 of IJN’ s revamp will focus on the extension of services and facilities that will include the expansion of Integrated Disease Management Services, an Integrated Disease Centre, Geriatric and Family Medicine, the Sports Clinic and Rehab Centres, and new Health Screening Services.
Phase 2 will feature the IJN Metropolis, a stateof-the-art IJN Medical Complex and IJN University College.
The extension of these service initiatives, to be launched both locally and internationally, will be carried out either at the facility or through outside collaboration.“ We’ ll have satellite centres in different states in Malaysia, providing consultation and treatment of cardiovascular diseases. Healthcare has evolved to a point where we go to where the patients are, instead of just patients coming to us. And by cementing our long-standing partnership with our international counterparts, IJN will act as a resource centre to these hospitals and their doctors— be it in expertise, education, or onsite surgical assistance,” Dr Ezani said.
At the same time, Dr Alwi’ s team will be putting their heads and hands together in:
• Planning and executing the remaining 50 percent of IJN’ s Medical Devices Integration by April 2025
• Engaging in external Health Information Exchange with the Ministry of Health in February 2025
• Developing an enhanced Code White system with clinical data by March 2025
• Monitoring the PMR Scanning process and improving the Procedural Consent process
• Continuing the development of Data Analytics and Clinical Decision Support Systems
• Expanding Unit of Dose( UOD) medications to all clinical areas
• Developing Phase 3 of the IJNCare Mobile App
• Advancing the development of a Doctors Mobile App
• Providing evidence that the hospital’ s EMR system has reduced errors, improved patient safety, and increased patient satisfaction
• Enforcing Privacy and Security measures, including Data Leak Protection
As IJN 2.0 moves forward, Dr Ezani’ s digitalisation vision for IJN looks more promising than ever.
“ I envision our patients’ visits to IJN somewhat like a Disneyland experience, with a large number of patients but no waiting time, and while there may not be a roller coaster, there will be plenty of things to see, do, and enjoy— the feeling of a theme park in a hospital space. I also have a vision of IJN as a technology-driven, value-based facility with a focus on excellent patient outcomes, with patient satisfaction at the highest level. That’ s my vision for IJN.”
