• These stem cells are cryopreserved and then reintroduced into the patient following intensive treatment.
• From a genetically matched donor, usually a sibling

• From an unrelated donor with genetically compatible marrow / stem cells identified via bone marrow registries
• Stem cells are collected from an infant’ s umbilical cord immediately after birth
