New fertility book launched at Gleneagles Hospital
With remarkable accomplishments such as
successfully delivering the first IVF triplets in 1983 and
being the first person to successfully freeze the human
egg in 1986, amongst other achievements, Professor
Christopher Chen is an IVF pioneer. Thus, leading him
to write and publish his book called “Your Infertility Is
My Problem”. The book encompasses every aspect
in the journey to achieving fertility, from the ‘Cycle of
natural conception’ to the introduction of ‘Assisted
conception’.
Massive congratulations to Professor Chen for
the launching of his new book “Your Infertility Is My
Problem”. The book launch was held at the lecture
theatre in Gleneagles Hospital, where Professor Chen’s
clinic, the Advanced Centre for Reproductive Medicine
(ACRM) is located.
The reception began outside the lecture theatre,
and the guest book was signed as more friends, family
and doctors arrived. Copies of the book, each kindly
signed by Professor Chen himself, were then purchased
before everyone headed into the lecture theatre. During

the programme, guest speakers such as Mr Kamal,
Professor Lim Chye Huat, Dr Suresh Nair and Dr Lim
Min Yu spoke about how the process of infertility to
fertility and specific solutions such as IVF are clearly
represented in “Your Infertility Is My Problem”. Professor
Chen’s personal goals and thoughts which went into
creating the book were also shared, revealing that his
aim was to create a comprehensive guide to fertility,
including all the factors influencing it. To conclude
the presentation portion of the book launch, a video
montage of Professor Chen’s important milestones and
memories throughout the years was played, looking
back at the accomplishments he has achieved, which
culminated in his writing of this book. Professor Chen
then made his address, humbly thanking all those
who attended for their support, sharing his wishes
that this book would be able to help more people
understand better and achieve fertility. At the end of the
event, attendees proceeded to take photographs with
Professor Chen, extending their personal congratulations
as lunch was served.
