Institut Jantung Negara
reduces procedure times for atrial fibrillation , one of the most common heart conditions in the world .
Beyond medical and service excellence , IN pulls out all the stops for the well-being of the whole community .
One way it does this is through its IN Foundation which raises private funds for innovative research , scholarships , education , and training , as well as providing financial assistance to patients in need of heart treatment who cant afford to pay out of pocket . Under the Patient Assistance Programme , the Foundation has been raising more than RM4 million ( US $ 852,000 ) a year to cover the costs of treatment along with travel , accommodations , and other daily expenses for underprivileged patients .
Moreover , IN is committed to minimising its impact on the environment . In 2019 , it was recognised as a pioneering hospital for its energy saving efforts , receiving the -star Energy Management old Standard certification . The centre uses renewable energy for its water heating system and light-emitting diodes ( LEDs ), which use less energy than regular lightbulbs . The aim is to contribute to Malaysia ’ s and the world ’ s goal to cut carbon emissions by 45 percent by 2030 , as agreed to in the Paris Climate Accord .
