Dr Imelda is one of the doctors in Malaysia who performs the Shirodkar Cerclage procedure , an advanced

technique that involves the placement of an encircling “ tape ” ligature at the level of the internal cervix to support and maintain the integrity of the cervical canal . The Shirodkar Cerclage procedure is done to treat cervical insufficiency which typically occurs in the second trimester when the cervix cannot hold a pregnancy .

Our commitment to Women ’ s Health is further strengthened by our team of experienced specialists and supporting medical team who address various conditions , including breast cancer , cervical cancer , and fibrosis to name a few . KPJ DSH is equipped with 3D Mammograms , 4D Ultrasounds , 3D Laparoscopies , HD Colposcopies , Breast Ultrasounds , Pelvic Floor Muscle Tighten Machines , CT scans , and Linear Accelerators ( LINAC ).

At the KPJ DSH Rehabilitation Centre , we provide specialised women ’ s health care for incontinence , defecation dysfunction , pelvic pain , and other pelvic floor issues . Our welltrained physiotherapists utilise the MAPLe device , which offers targeted biofeedback of individual muscles on different sides and depths in the pelvic

floor . After a thorough evaluation , many evidence-based treatments for pelvic floor conditions are used , including behavioural strategies , biofeedback , manual therapy , neuromuscular electrical stimulation , patient education , relaxation techniques , and tailored exercise regimens .

Acknowledging our responsibility towards the lower-income communities , KPJ DSH collaborates with Yayasan Warisan Anak Selangor ( YAWAS ), a State Government Agency via the MammoSel Programme . Since 2015 , we have provided free mammograms to more than 2,000 women , contributing to their early detection and improved health outcomes .

KPJ DSH is a 232-bedded hospital with close to 120 highly skilled consultant specialists and over 700 dedicated nurses and paramedics from all medical fields . In 2022 , KPJ DSH has served approximately 150,000 patients including 12,359 health tourists from countries including Indonesia , Indo- China , the Middle East , and India .
