GenomixLAB ® is a genetic laboratory dedicated to providing highquality sequencing and customised bioinformatics solutions . Opened in 2016 with a small team , it has rapidly grown to offer an extensive portfolio of best-in-class clinical genetic testing services .
It now caters to half of the total demand for genetic testing in Malaysia , serving some 120 private and government hospitals nationwide . It ’ s also poised to expand into Singapore and other Southeast Asian countries , according to Dr Camille Cyncynatus , Chief Executive of Genetics Asia Holdings which owns GenomixLAB ® .
The laboratory , which has invested in the latest next-generation sequencing ( NGS ) equipment , Microarray , and other state-of-the-art genetics equipment and instruments to complement its services and research into a wide range of genetic screening applications , received the Advanced Genetics Service Provider of the Year in the Asia-Pacific title at this year ’ s Global Health Asia-Pacific awards .

Among its accolades , the laboratory is currently the only facility in Malaysia that holds the prestigious College of American Pathology ( CAP ) accreditation , which reflects the high quality of its assays and services .
It also provides the widest range of clinical genetic diagnostic tests in the Asia-Pacific , positioning it as a onestop centre for all the genetic testing needs of doctors and their patients around the region .
At the same time , GenomixLAB ® is constantly innovating by developing tests to offer new solutions to solve medical needs .
“ We aspire to constantly provide the highest quality testing services in compliance with international CAP standards , and deploy the latest stateof-the-art technologies ,” she said .
The laboratory has been partnering with some of the highest regarded genetics and bioinformatics companies in Taiwan and the United Kingdom to ensure that its clinical reports contain the latest updates and most comprehensive information .
“ Our scientific and operational teams constantly ensure best practices are performed following the most stringent guidelines ,” Dr Cyncynatus added .
The company was recently taken over by Genetics Asia Holdings of Singapore , which has since revealed aggressive plans to grow across Southeast Asia and expand its expertise by offering more services .
“ With the network and connection we have now , we are poised to play a larger role , not only in diagnostic testing , but also in research and clinical trials ,” she said .
