ARDEN JR SURGERY
Arden Jr Surgery has a multidisciplinary team at the Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital in Singapore , comprising an endocrinologist , dietician , psychologist , and physiotherapist for efficient treatment of obesity , diabetes , and other metabolic disorders .
The centre features the practice of consultant surgeon Dr Jaideep Raj Rao , with a focus on minimal-access and robotic surgery for bariatric , metabolic , gastrointestinal , oncological , and complex abdominal procedures .
Dr Rao specialises in bariatric and metabolic surgery for the treatment of obesity and diabetes . In the field of oncology , he has an interest in uppergastrointestinal tract cancers , namely oesophageal and pancreatic cancer , and abdominal sarcomas . He performs laparoscopic and robotic surgery for multi-organ resection in cancer surgery .
He is also accomplished in treating benign gastrointestinal disorders such as reflux , gall stones , hernia , and appendix disorders .
Dr Rao completed his basic and advanced surgical training at Tan Tock Seng Hospital and Singapore General Hospital .
He was awarded the Singapore Health Ministry ’ s National Healthcare Human and Manpower Development Plan Fellowship in 2007 in advanced laparoscopic and robotic surgery and completed his fellowship at hospitals in Korea in 2008 .

mal access surgery and the director of the bariatric surgery programme at Tan Tock Seng Hospital where he worked for 10 years before founding JR Surgery .
Dr Rao is one of the founding members of the Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society of Singapore , for which he has served as president . He is also president of the Singapore Hernia Society , a member of the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders , a governor of the Endoscopic and Laparoscopic Surgeons of Asia , and executive council member of the Asia-Pacific Hernia Society and Robotic Surgery Society of Singapore .
He is actively involved in clinical research and has several publications in peer-reviewed journals . He has also been involved in teaching and was a core faculty member of the surgical residency programme in Singapore . In addition , he was a clinical teacher at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine , National University of Singapore and Lee Kong Chian School of medicine .
Another specialist , endocrinologist Dr Ben Ng Jen Min , provides comprehensive services for patients who require tests , screening , and treatment of diabetes , thyroid problems , and other endocrine conditions .
Having graduated from the Queens University Belfast , he completed his postgraduate training with dual accreditation in diabetes and endocrinology and internal medicine .
Upon his return to Singapore in 2011 , he worked as a full time consultant endocrinologist at Changi General Hospital for three years , during which time he was appointed assistant adjunct professor in research at Duke-NUS and also acted as a clinical tutor under the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine , Singapore .
His medical expertise encompasses a wide range of endocrinological problems including diabetes mellitus and obesity and thyroid disorders , as well as androgen , reproductive , adrenal , and pituitary diseases . Dr Ng has a special interest in patients with diabetes mellitus and thyroid disease .
