Warm Greetings from Malaysia Healthcare !
Dear Readers ,
The 2021 year of pandemic is soon ending chapter , hence , making this the perfect time to take a step back and evaluate all our efforts over the past 12 months as we nail down plans for 2022 . This year has been an especially challenging one , across multiple economic sectors , as we endeavoured to reverse the effects of the pandemic while finding novel ways to bring our businesses into the New Normal .
Needless to say , a lot has changed and in keeping with the times , Malaysia Healthcare is charting a new course for continuous , inclusive , and sustainable healthcare travel industry growth over the next five years . The Malaysia Healthcare Travel Industry Blueprint 2021-2025 was launched recently by The Honourable Khairy Jamaluddin , Minister of Health Malaysia , which charts out recovery and rebuilding strategies to continue growing the healthcare travel industry as one of the Malaysia ’ s key export services .
Towards Providing the Best Healthcare Experience
In ensuring that Malaysia continues to make headway in unison with its unique public-private partnership strength , the Blueprint was further crafted with the aspiration of providing a healthcare experience which exemplifies the best of medical and service excellence throughout the end-toend patient journey . The plan further maps out the strategies and framework for industry stakeholders , anchoring on high quality , affordability , seamless journey , and accessibility factors at each touch point in the ecosystem .
The Blueprint will be driven together with Malaysia Healthcare ’ s strong ecosystem in healthcare service delivery through our seamless end-to-end patient journey since our inception over 10 years ago . This is comprised of collaborative efforts from government entities , industry players , and our network of globally accredited 73 member hospitals .
Transitioning from Pandemic to Endemic
As we collectively transition into the endemic phase and work towards Reopening Safely , we must continue to uphold the highest commitment in strengthening our unique public-private partnerships . Through exemplification of excellence in healthcare and service delivery , we can effectively recover and rebuild our healthcare travel sector .
Moving into 2022 , we have our work cut out for us as we continue making strategic and collaborative moves towards industry recovery . I believe we can make a significant leap towards our future goal as we continue to build upon existing confidence and faith in Malaysia as a safe and trusted healthcare travel destination while prioritising the best healthcare experience for our patients .
On that note , I would like to encourage all my fellow industry stakeholders and friends to continue leveraging each other ’ s strengths in realising Malaysia ’ s potential in becoming a leading global healthcare destination .
