The Global Health Asia-Pacific Healthcare and Hospital Awards is back in the game after being called off last year due to the restrictions put in place to contain COVID-19 .
In December , a host of healthcare executives and experts will gather in Singapore and Kuala Lumpur to receive their trophies and exchange their views on the industry .
This year ’ s event will feature recognition for the private hospitals that supported the public sector in the diagnosis and treatment of COVID-19 . Many providers across Singapore , Malaysia , and Thailand helped contain the pandemic and implement vaccination programmes .
Mount Elizabeth Hospital and Subang Jaya Medical Centre were both crowned as the Best Hospital of the Year in the Asia-Pacific for their comprehensive teams of experts and array of cutting-edge medical technologies .
Malaysia ’ s National Heart Institute was recognised as both the Cardiology Service Provider of the Year in the Asia-Pacific and the Heart Transplant Service Provider of the Year in the Asia-Pacific for successfully treating millions of patients since its inception .
In cancer care , Mahkota Medical Centre and Pantai Hospital Kuala Lumpur received the Oncology ( Surgical ) Service Provider of the Year Award for their high-quality services and advanced procedures .
Prince Court Medical Centre and KPJ Tawakkal KL Specialist Hospital obtained the Orthopaedic Service Provider of the Year in the Asia-Pacific Award for the wide range of specialist treatments available at their hospitals .
Farrer Park Hospital gained recognition in dementia care for its artificial intelligence-empowered screening tool for the condition as well as its team of experts experienced in caring for people with dementia .
A special mention goes to the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council ( MHTC ), winner of the Outstanding Leadership in Healthcare Travel in the Asia- Pacific , which played an important role in keeping health travel to Malaysia alive when international border restrictions were imposed in many countries around the world .
