Excellence in health travel A special mention goes to the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council ( MHTC ), winner of the Outstanding Leadership in Healthcare Travel in the Asia-Pacific .
To soften the blow of the travel restrictions implemented during the pandemic , the MHTC partnered with other public and private stakeholders to keep health travel alive by facilitating the flow of international patients to Malaysia . Indeed , the Southeast Asian nation was one of the first countries to launch a medical travel bubble that allowed many people to check in at Malaysian private hospitals under stringent safety standards .
To keep boosting health travel to Malaysia , the MHTC is working closely with the country ’ s Ministry of Health to prepare standard operating procedures that will further improve safety standards .
