UPCOMING PHYSIOTHERAPY MEDICAL CENTRE OF THE YEAR IN THE ASIA-PACIFIC

POOJA PHYSIOTHERAPY & HEALTH CARE CENTRE
Pooja Vijaykumar Hamirwasia had her interest in physiotherapy sparked after her sister was diagnosed with demyelination , a condition where the protective coating of nerve cells becomes damaged , resulting in neurological problems . It can be the result of various medical conditions , including multiple sclerosis .
Witnessing how the various exercises her sister required helped her first prompted the certified physiotherapist and founder of Pooja Physiotherapy & Health Care Centre in Singapore to enter the field at the age of 30 .
After completing a degree in physiotherapy , she underwent training under the guidance of two of Mumbai ’ s leading sports science doctors where she was exposed to a patient base that included athletes , actors , and other famous names .
By 2010 , she had begun working at a private clinic in Singapore , which gave her exposure to the treatment protocols followed in the city . This proved to be a stepping stone for Pooja to enter private practice five years later , as she built up a loyal following of patients who trusted her methods . Pooja Physiotherapy & Health Care Centre is located at a residential hub on River Valley Road , making it easily reachable by public or private transport .
By providing personalised and customised treatment protocols that are tailored for each individual , Pooja works with each of her patients by setting them goals and developing

effective treatment plans that include advice on posture , ergonomics , and lifestyle modifications .
The clinic ’ s services are available for all stages in life , from paediatric physiotherapy through to geriatric wellbeing , helping older patients to maintain and improve their balance and enhance mobility so they can remain active .
Services also safeguard women ’ s health by evaluating and treating conditions like diastesis recti and pelvic floor pain and prescribing preand post-natal exercises .
In addition , Pooja provides electrotherapy and local modalities to assist pain reduction and the natural healing response of body . These are methods for pain relief or inflammation reduction through stimulation by therapeutic ultrasound , interferential therapeutic currents , transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation , and shockwave therapy that allow patients to continue moving and functioning as comfortably as possible while the root cause of a condition is treated .
Pooja also provides a range of other therapies , including exercise therapy modalities such as theraball and bosu ball exercises , resistive loop and therabands exercises , foam rollers , and free weights .
Her hydrotherapy treatments are basic exercises done in water to relieve pain , improve range of motion , and gain strength effectively in patients with musculoskeletal disorders , such as arthritis , ankylosing spondylitis , or spinal cord injuries , and in those suffering from spasticity , stroke , or paralysis .
She also practices tapping to support injured muscles or joints without restricting full range of motion in individuals . This helps to aid in faster muscle recovery , prevents cramps or spasms , avoids over-stretching or over-contraction of muscles , and also enhances muscle tone and strength .
These are all encompassed in Pooja Physiotherapy & Health Care Centre ’ s mission to make individuals independent and free of pain through a realistic approach to treatment while also understanding the importance of exercise in their daily life .
